Like the readers of this blog, I've been communicating since I was a baby. Unlike some, I've done it professionally most of my life. I've been involved in written and interpersonal communication in settings that include TV and newspaper reporting/editing, public relations, corporate training, and employee communication.
After 20 years dealing with written and strategic communication - and when I was midway through an MBA in communication management - I determined that the really interesting and important communication in organizations takes place person-to-person. It was a major shift in my thinking and profoundly affected my work.
This shift led me to write my first book, "Talk To Me! Workplace Conversations That Work," to be published in the summer of 2007.
As Head Coach of It's Understood Communication, I create training programs, webinars and downloadable products that help managers and teams connect and collaborate through conscious conversation.
I have an MBA in Communication Management and have earned professional accreditation by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and the International Association of Coaching (IAC).
